Ty Parker received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from The University of Alabama. He received a Master of Music Education degree from Auburn University. While attending the University of Alabama, Ty held several leadership positions. On the field, he served The Million Dollar Band as alto saxophone section leader during his sophomore year and as Drum Major during his junior and senior years. He was also selected to represent the Million Dollar Band and the University Band department at University Student Government meetings and at functions such as the Alabama All State Band Festival, the Bands of America Regional Championship competition in Atlanta, and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. Among his peers, Ty served as President of the University of Alabama's Music Education Chapter during his junior and senior years. As a classical pianist and student of Mrs. Glenda Raney and Dr. Noel Engebretson, Ty performed with the Alabama Wind Ensemble, Alabama Symphonic Band, Alabama Percussion Ensemble, and the Alabama Piano Studio. As winner of the University of Alabama's undergraduate conducting competition, Ty conducted the University of Alabama's Campus Band. As winner of the state-wide undergraduate interview competition, his interview was published in the Ala Breve magazine and he attended the National Music Educator's Conference in Washington D.C. From 2010-2015, Mr. Parker was the director at Good Hope School. During his tenure, the student enrollment increased 92% and fundraising profits increased 300%. Ty and his girlfriend Jessica Patterson will be serving the West Point community for their third year and look forward to next year's successes!
